about

It's fitting that on 12/12/12 I release "Giant". This song pushes the boundaries of hip hop at 140 BPM’s. Most would be annoyed at the fact that I just labeled it hip hop, but that's life. There are 3 samples that I frankensteined to create this song all of which span different genres and times:

The original sample comes from Eddie Kendricks’ “date with the rain”. At the time, I never heard the song before until Rush's good friend, Tsunami suggested that I sample it, being a classic and one of her favorites. It quickly became a favorite of mine and I wasted no time chopping it up.

The drum break I butchered up from a song called “ah-ha” by the band “Under the Influence of Giants”, hence the name of the track, “giant”. I always try and pay respect in one way or another when I borrow talent.

The 3rd sample is from 80’s classic, Falco, “rock me Amadeus” you can try and find it but good luck.

This song, originally produced in 2006 is one of my beloved with Rush (Rachelle Domingo Rogers) offering her wine induced vocals during the hook and peoplemover’s own beligerent flows (Kevin Watts) sharing a couple verses.

Enjoy.

Peoplemover, once just a side project of thirdy3rd, has now become a primary focus with a higher influence than just music.

While thirdy3rd is known for their unprecedented, futuristic digital, fast pace, electro hip hop sound, peoplemover can easily be classified as a close relative, yet formed of an organic and hifi analog complexity, fueled by fossil nostalgia of new and old grooves.
