about

The gnarly thing about this song is I re:arranged the obvious, Nirvana's "Come as you are" but then the drums I borrowed and tweaked from Amy Winehouse's "You know I'm no good". Two talented pioneers of our generation(s) that couldn't shake the pressures of the world so they left it early. Bummer.

The lyrics resemble a humble triumph. Having the right meditative state of mind or mind over matter, we can overcome adversity and experience a release from whatever pressures us and keeps us from moving forward.

I pretty much chopped it, layered it, filtered it, wrote to it and recorded it in the course of 2 days. I usually work like a snail and drag it out like I've done this entire album since 2005 but sometimes you just got to get it off your chest.

lyrics

HOOK

Take me home to a happy place
Where I can breathe and walk the way
That I believe will heal my future
And watch the sea wash it all away

Point my path to the right direction
Where I can see by the clear of day
And hope that the cold won’t blow me dim
And trigger my blues from the hues of gray

VERSE

We can move to a fairytale
With our mood we can swing our soul
We can paint the pictures of nineteen
Seventy six in gold

We can stand together strong
Stay close we can beat the cold (take hold)
We can sing the songs of freedom
With a little bit of rock n roll (break the mold)

We can pure out the rhythm move
With our smooth we can flatten earth (worse)
We can douse the flames of a government
With the innocence of rebirth (birth)

We can dig deep with a pair of bare hands
For our kids we can pave the road
We can achieve nirvana (nirvana)
I teeter on the whim of an ode (let me go)

about

peoplemover San Diego, California

Peoplemover, once just a side project of thirdy3rd, has now become a primary focus with a higher influence than just music.

While thirdy3rd is known for their unprecedented, futuristic digital, fast pace, electro hip hop sound, peoplemover can easily be classified as a close relative, yet formed of an organic and hifi analog complexity, fueled by fossil nostalgia of new and old grooves.
