about

And finally, the last piece of my puzzle I call re:produce, a concept album incorporating self inflicted vocal memoirs layered over bits and pieces of other musicians tragedies and triumphs that I've re:mixed, re:lived, re:cycled, and re:freshed; A re:furbished analysis of yesterdays MUSIC.

For the last 5 months, I've re:leased about one song a week and I'm glad to finally wipe my hands clean of a project that started in 2005 and should have been complete years ago...

This album was a journey for me, each song played a pivotal role in navigating my life over the last 8 years and spans major milestones ranging from the commitment of matrimony, the birth of a son, the death of thirdy3rd, the spawn of peoplemover, career failures and triumphs, the loss of friends as well as the reunions...the list goes on.

Thank you for sharing the experience through my music, my point of view, "a reflection of my life, sometimes deep, tough and confident, other times, playful, witty and vulnerable. It’s then, it’s now, it’s here and there, it’s my family life, my political take, my love and hate for all things human"

About this song:
Peoplemover is the last song on re:produce and the title track off of the peoplemover ep, featuring armstrong satellite and beligerent flos.

The entire song was re:created by breaking down and re:building "chocolate buttermilk" by Kool & the Gang. What most people don't see in sampling music is the process and what they don't hear is the organic re:composition of what has been broken down into single sounds and then re:distributed to complete a new take.

It's never about the loop and relying on a single layer over some plagiarized drums. In these projects, for me, it has been about preserving the essence or vibe of the original song and then re:producing a new feel that in most cases has nothing to do with the original.

Either way you see it, I appreciate your time, eyes and ears.

Enjoy.

about

peoplemover San Diego, California

Peoplemover, once just a side project of thirdy3rd, has now become a primary focus with a higher influence than just music.

While thirdy3rd is known for their unprecedented, futuristic digital, fast pace, electro hip hop sound, peoplemover can easily be classified as a close relative, yet formed of an organic and hifi analog complexity, fueled by fossil nostalgia of new and old grooves.
