about

Aside from the obvious title and Dionne Warwick samples, this version of "Walk on By" isn't about a relationship between 2 individuals who can't get it together, it's about any individual in a relationship with his/her place in the world.

The lyrics are very conscious, in a present day frame of mind, seeming to derive from the spirit of the "occupy" movement. However, these lyrics are nearly 7 years old and only reflect an ongoing reality of how small we really are in the big picture. I'd love to say there were inspired by the 99% but it just stands as proof that we've been held back for far too long.

No matter how many times I have re:played and edited this song since 2006, each time I hear it, I'm re:minded of the exact feeling I had when I wrote it atop Torrey Pines cliffs, overlooking the Pacific ocean, on a morning when I called in late to work so I can get some shit off my chest, and this song is the result.

Please enjoy, and I encourage you to read the lyrics.

lyrics

Refuse to go with no fight
Protest rebel lion jungle unite
My sign my picket my stance my sight
Stop a tank in its tracks with my feet my right

We lose if don’t prove strong
March with the people as a whole move on
My voice my word my verse my song
I Strike till the day that I’m gone Armstrong

And my word reverberates earth
Heard through the mighty audibles of all worth
This shine this time is mine this mind
Fall in line and fossil the dirt and reverse

By all means all spirits reflect
All peaceful poverty and wealthy connect
One life one live one body we step
One love under God - one - respect

(Hook)

I telescope the present from a future state of thought
Illustrated with a frustrated underrated verse
I satellite points in the character of Braille
But they fail to see the way they can touch this earth

They’ve chain linked society so none can get in
Stained glass made of plastic elastic church
Synthetic social classes where none can get out
Suddenly I see the masses amass this burst

There’s not much to say that isn’t already seen
I preach to the choir as I inhale rage
When the reservoir is dry and the levee holds nothin
It’ll crumble from monotony decipher the page

In the method of a stage I speak to be heard
Teach to each beach and reach beyond word
I may preach to the choir but they sing the same tune
It’s the same old song stay tuned its high noon

(HOOK)

I crash with the current currently I meet the shore
Drawn back from reality I have realized my worth
I look into the vastness crash this current
Currently I will get past this and last this earth

I sit in front of sunset in the AM on the west bank
> With twelve hours to kill I feel the strain
> My chest tank empty depressed blank
My beat rhythm less faulted by pain

Drained, exhausted bound to the wedge
Revolution one unhurriedly it spreads
I now have reached my purpose As I dangle from unstable edge
The able ledge unable to label my dreads

More able though to crack beneath my feet
And send me tumble rumbling and crumbled in defeat
More or less I feel the humbling I now realize my worth
A grain of sand encompassed in the panic of this - earth

about

peoplemover San Diego, California

Peoplemover, once just a side project of thirdy3rd, has now become a primary focus with a higher influence than just music.

While thirdy3rd is known for their unprecedented, futuristic digital, fast pace, electro hip hop sound, peoplemover can easily be classified as a close relative, yet formed of an organic and hifi analog complexity, fueled by fossil nostalgia of new and old grooves.
